Well I went to a leadership meeting sponsored by our District Manager and an Executive Unit Leader. We were supposed to bring people who were new and wanted to get into Fast Start....leadership. I had two reps and they couldn't make it at last minute. So, I was dressed and ready to go and even though I'm a Unit Leader I figure what the heck. I really enjoyed the little get together at Uno's Pizzeria in Smithfield, RI. It amazes me how interested I am in my Avon Business. I'm never bored with listening to people talk about it, watching their faces and reactions to comments of money they can earn. So, I'm listening to Denise tell a story about a customer of hers who decided to sell Avon but, guess what she didn't ask Denise. Reason being Denise never asked her and the prospective new rep feels that Denise doesn't want her to sell because she will take her customers. Now, unfortunately I could relate all to well. One of my very good customers (which is the first hint in my mind), decided with all the money she spends every month on Avon she might as well sell it herself. Well she not only didn't ask me about it she went to a local fair and was recruited by Kelly another District Manager from another District. I was upset but, hey I didn't ask her. So, do you think I've ever asked anyone since well .... no I haven't. Also, Lise stating about a Doctor becoming an Avon Rep and how she was comfortable with her job and lifestyle but, things weren't looking so great for her husband at this time. So, she will plunge into leadership and the question was asked...Would you ever ask your Doctor. I immediately said no... So, last night when I got home I went onto youravon.com sent a note to every customer of mine stating how much I value them as a customer and I appreciate their business BUT.... I did want to mention what a great opportunity I had for anyone interested. Even though everything I send out has a signature line stating Recruiter and awards, etc... I've never heard from anyone. So, I made sure I let everyone know about the opportunity and how I would love to have them as a team member so they could enjoy the benefits of being an Avon Rep as well as still purchasing their favorite products!! I check my email this morning with my eyes half closed and guess what.....I see a name and in the subject line it says I want to be on your team!!! I'm like flippin out in my chair. This is a customer I've had for 3 years and a very good customer. She spends about $100-$200 monthly. Well I just signed her up! I feel great and I'm happy because she was elated! JT said to me I've thought about selling it several times but, didn't really know how to contact someone. So, Denise your story was one I related to but, for whatever reason this time I acted on it. So, was it worth me going to a meeting when knowing my new reps weren't going to attend with me. Well, yes it was.....There is always some bit of advice or comments from people (people who you look up to and want to be where there at) and it made me feel like I'm going to get there. I'm going to continue to make a difference and be more assertive towards everyone I see. So, thanks to all who attended and I will see you next month with new recruits added to my 'TEAM' (Team is something else I learned las night) I always said my "downline" it was stated downline was a negative word....Denise always say Team Member....I like that. I'm using it now. Well there you have it another one of lifes lessons you learn from but, this time acting on it....
